Animal Masks with the Children
Seeds of Hope Community Center
Working our way through the Good Morning Dear Earth Song, the Sudanese children made animal masks on week 3. Their smiling faces and interactions throughout our class time helped me to feel the most at home. We managed to break through language barriers with music and art in an amazing way. Accross the world, in dismal places, kids shine and give us hope.
Dinka Lady Dancer Paint Night
Seeds of Hope Community Center
Using art to make connections and offer creative spaces for healing. The Sudanese refugees here worked on African Landscapes, Hibiscus, the national flower of Sudan and Dinka (tribal) Lady Dancer.
The Dinka dancer was inspired by artist Gloria Ssali: She creates absolutely beautiful work, her Nativity paintings are amazing!
